Forget You-----series from last 2 Sundays!

Forget You--1

He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30

They came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan-the one you testified about-well, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him." John 3:26

To mature physically we increase, but to mature spiritually we decrease!

BEING LESS ABOUT ME AND MORE ABOUT JESUS MEANS.

1. I LOSE MY FOCUS.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith... Hebrews 12:2

2. I LOSE MY STUFF.

Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income... Ecclesiastes 5:10

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. Matthew 6:24

3. I LOSE MY LIFE.

Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:39

GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU!

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! Isaiah 49:15

Forget You--2
I AM LESS; HE IS MORE

He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30

HOW DO I BECOME LESS AND HE BECOMES GREATER?

* IT'S NOT A FORMULA; IT'S A JOURNEY.

"Never make a principle out of your experience; let God be as original with other people as He was with you."   Oswald Chambers

Do not conform any longer to the patteren of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind... Romans 12:2

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

"Watch your thoughts for they become words. Watch your words for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become habits. Watch your habits for they become your character. And watch you character for it will become your destiny!"   Margaret Thatcher

HOW DO I RENEW MY MIND?

1. RENEWING MY MIND INVOLVES SPENDING TIME WITH GOD!

He must become greater; I must become less. John 3:30

SPENDING TIME WITH GOD:
  1. PRAYER---TALK AND ALSO LISTEN(IT'S A TWO COMMUNICATION)!
  2. READ THE BIBLE!

2. RENEWING MY MIND INVOLVES DAILY OBEDIENCE!

Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey --whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?  Romans 6:16

MY CLOSENESS TO GOD CAN BE MEASURED BY THE TIME IT TAKES FROM HIS COMMAND TO MY OBEDIENCE!
